Dude…

The NFL season still only has one undefeated left after they scrapped by the Bucs on Monday Night Football. We’ve seen some teams start off terribly and progress back into contention. We’ve had some early season Super Bowl Contenders fall back to earth. Who performed well and who fell down? Week 9 was full of action and I’ve got your weekly update just in case you missed it.

It’s all about the J-E-T-S: The New York Jets claimed a 21-13 victory over the Houston Texans on October 31, 2024, breaking a five-game losing streak. After a rough start where the Jets struggled offensively, the team surged in the second half, with Aaron Rodgers bouncing back from a low first-half performance. Rodgers completed 15 of 18 passes in the second half, throwing for 179 yards and three touchdowns, including key plays to Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams that helped secure the win. Meanwhile, the Jets’ defense came alive with relentless pressure, racking up eight sacks on Houston’s C.J. Stroud. Quinnen Williams and Haason Reddick led a dominant pass rush that disrupted the Texans’ offense, limiting them to just one touchdown drive in the first half. Without Diggs and Collins, the Texans are definitely going to struggle the rest of the year. After breaking the losing streak, maybe the Jets will be back

The Fallin’ Saints: The New Orleans Saints' losing streak extended to seven games after a close 23-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers on November 3, 2024. This defeat has highlighted continued struggles on both sides of the ball. Saints quarterback Derek Carr and the offense showed some promise but ultimately couldn’t convert on crucial late-game drives. Carr was sacked at a key moment, and his last-minute fourth-down pass attempt was broken up, sealing the loss. The Saints’ defense also failed to contain Carolina's Bryce Young, who led a comeback drive in the final moments. The team faced additional setbacks when receiver Chris Olave sustained his second concussion of the season, adding to their personnel challenges. The Saints' 2-7 record and ongoing struggles have led to mounting pressure on head coach Dennis Allen, whose job security is increasingly uncertain following this historic losing streak. The Saints were on my list of Super Bowl contenders at the beginning of the season, but after this, they are in line for a top 5 draft pick. Not good.

Lions on Top: The Detroit Lions solidified their spot at the top of the NFC with a 24-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers, improving to 7-1. Dominating both sides of the ball, the Lions’ offense, led by Jared Goff, and a resilient defense kept the Packers in check, highlighting Detroit’s rise as one of the league’s most well-rounded teams. Amon-Ra St. Brown is a top wideout in the league and the running back duo of Jaymir Gibbs and David Montgomery are the most dynamic backfield in the league. Brian Branch leads the stingy Lions defense who steps up and pops you in the mouth. The Lions are hungry, and they are feasting on everyone who wants the smoke.
