Dude…

Week 7 was one of the best weeks in college football. If you had a wedding this last weekend, I feel bad for you. We had the Red River Rivalry, Oregon vs. Ohio State, OT thrillers,  and one of the best weekends of college football.

Oregon vs. Ohio State Clash-  This is why College football is so much fun to watch. The #2 team in THE Ohio State University took on the #3 Oregon Ducks in Eugene. Oh baby did they give us a classic!! Both Oregon and Ohio State went back and forth as the Ducks found themselves up 1 at half. In the second half, the boys continued to give us a classic. With Oregon up one, the Buckeyes had an opportunity to win the game. If you haven’t ever seen Will Howard play football, the ending was a classic from him. With 11 seconds to play, Will Howard threw an incompletion. A flag was on the field as Oregon had 12 players on the field. With 6 seconds left, Will Howard made the bold move from the 45 yard line to use his legs. He ended up running the clock out completely for the Ducks to steal the game. Ohio State has a great team, but having Will Howard be your starting QB, any K-State fan will tell you how much he likes to screw his own team over in the end. Good win Ducks, now it’s time to make a push for the playoffs.

OT Thrillers- We had a ton of OT thrillers that kept college football fans GLUED to the tv all afternoon. First, Penn State found themselves in a hole and losing by 14 at the end of the 1st half. In the second, the Nittany Lions fought back to even the score. Both teams went back and forth as the clock wound down, the teams traded blows. It seemed like once USC scored, Penn State came back and did the same. As the clock hit zero we needed some overtime. USC got the ball first, and was stopped. USC’s kicker Lantz missed a 45 yard field goal. All the Lions needed was a field goal, and they executed it to perfection edging out the win. Then, the LSU Tigers beat Ole Miss from a dart from Garrett Nussmeier to Kyren Lacy to overcome the Rebels in OT. Jaxson Dart and the Rebels need to win out to make the playoff. Finally, Tennessee stopped the scare of losing to Florida after Florida's kicker missed a long field goal in OT. Tennessee lined up and pounded the ball inside all the way to the endzone to avoid the upset. This week was fun and had fans on the edge of their seats the entire day. Thank you football gods!!!!

K-State Scrapes Out a Late Night Win- Were you able to stay up to watch the K-State Wildcats take on the Colorado Buffaloes. The biggest problem for Colorado was the injury bug that plagued their team in the game. Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn jr. both went out with injuries in the first half. They did not return. So, Shadeur Sanders had to try and put the team on his back. The K-State Wildcats still seem to be getting their team together. Avery Johnson has been ok but when throwing a pick, he seems to lose confidence. However, it seemed like he has grown some. He threw an early interception in his last game, but was able to rally back and bring his team into the lead. Sanders tried to put his team on his back, as he threw a touchdown to put his team up after a 4th down interception throw from Avery Johnson. Again, Johnson bounces back and throws a beauty of a ball for a 50 yard touchdown to Jayce Brown. Sanders tried to rally his inner Heisman, but fell short giving the Wildcats a win. The game was over at 1 am cst. A phenomenal football game to a phenomenal college football week.
