Dude…
Week 4 already! Man, the season sure does fly by! As we get into conference play, some teams are bouncing ahead, while others are falling short cough Kansas cough. Don’t worry, I’ll get my KU rant in here soon, but there was a lot more college football on then just KU. I have your week 4 updates for you right now!!
Big Red went down
Well, the copycat Patrick Mahomes finally took its first L of the season. Matt Rhule and company faced off against a stingy Illinois squad who found themselves ranked for the first time in forever. I will say this though, the Illinois team is one fun team to watch. Luke Altmyer threw for 4 touchdowns and no interceptions. He was dotting up the Nebraska defense. Dylan Raiola played an ok game with 3 touchdowns and 1 costly interception. It came down to overtime where Altmyer threw an absolute dime to Pat Bryant to seal the win for the Fightin’ Illini. Even though Nebraska took their first L of the season, Raiola looks like a QB who could help Nebraska make it to a prestigious bowl game, or even better, a playoff berth. Illinois is not a lack luster team anymore. They’re defense is stingy, Altmyer looks like he’s got it going, and the Big 10 may have another contender. We will see if they are the real deal or imposters as they take on Penn State this week.
JD is dead to me
I hate this team. When basketball season starts, I’ll be all for the Jayhawks. However, Jalen Daniels cannot read pass coverages. Straight up. He legit keeps his eyes on his target and doesn’t look off the safety or linebacker, especially across the middle. He has 8 interceptions in 4 games… and one of them was against a division 2 school. Not to mention, the awful offensive play calling that never goes to our strengths as a team. JD threw a really bad pick and he continues to show he can’t handle it. A rain delay gave them a fresh look and they came out and scored to put the Jayhawks up 11 with 5 minutes left. They should win, right???? Nope, they suck. Gives up 14 unanswered points to move the Jayhawks to 1-3. This is the 3rd week in a row where they’ve had a melt down in the closing minutes of the game to lose. So I guess it’s not all JD’s fault, but we should be 3-1 if not 4-0 if the defense could’ve held up. Now, we’re 1-3 and every fan is already searching for basketball season to start. Thanks KU.
Oklahoma wishing they were in the Big 12 still?
Oh you think you’re better than the Big 12? You’re gonna go into the SEC and win a ton of games, and be a contender for the playoff? Tennessee said no. Nico Iamaleava told the boomer sooner to sit down and shut up. He threw for almost 200 yards and a touchdown. Dylan Sampson ran for another touchdown as well to push the Volunteers past Oklahoma. Michael Hawkins Jr. played ok, but didn’t show out as well as he was supposed to. Only throwing for 132 yards and a 58.9 QBR is not going to cut it in the SEC. He was so ineffective that he was benched. So, the Sooners took their first L of the SEC, can they bounce back? Or will Boomer Sooner fall to mediocrity in the SEC?
