Dude…
Week 3 was one of the wildest NFL weeks I’ve ever seen. We had 70 points put up by one team. We had one of the worst teams in the NFL beat one of the best. We had the Chicago Bears… well, still be the shitty Bears. With games taking place all over the country, it was hard to catch every single game. Thankfully, your boys at Dudes and Sports have got you covered with everything you may have missed!!!
Giants vs. 49ers
Giants takeaway: They played the best NFC team without their star
We already knew the Giants sucked. That’s when they had Saquon Barkley in the backfield. In week three, they didn’t have their All-Pro running back. So, without Barkley, the Giants couldn’t get anything going on offense. With the 49ers playing out of their minds on the defensive end, how can you blame the Giants for taking the L.
49ers takeaway: CMC is lights out
The 49ers are just like that. Christian McCaffery continues to show that he is one of the most dominant backs in the league. CMC rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown. Brock Purdy threw for 2 touchdowns and Deebo hauled in 130 receiving yards. The whole team was lights out, and Christian continues to lead this team into being the favorite to win the Super Bowl. If he stays healthy, this team will be tough to stop.
Titans vs. Browns: Browns takeaway: Yuck
Yes, they won. Yes, it was a blowout. It still doesn’t change the fact that the Browns don’t look good. They beat a team where their QB couldn’t hit a WR if they were playing catch in the backyard on a casual Saturday. Deshaun Watson looked alright, but I mean, he threw the ball backward. The offensive line is still in shambles and they still haven’t established their running game. The Browns have a lot of work to do, thankfully for them, they played the Titans.
Titans takeaway: Yuckier
Ok, Tannehill needs to go. This team is going absolutely nowhere. Derrick Henry is still the only bright spot on this offense. Tannehill couldn’t hit the ocean from the beach if he tried. He can’t throw the ball accurately over 10 yards. Sometimes, he can’t even do that. The Titans offense looks bad. The Titans defense looks bad. Hell, the whole team looks bad. It may be Will Levis time here soon because Tannehill sucks.
Falcons vs. Lions:
Falcons takeaway: This team is just ok
As you can see, the Falcons are just ok. Bijan Robinson was halted from the very beginning. It was very hard for Desmond Ridder to get it going in the passing offense. The Falcons are just a big question mark. The NFC South is a weak conference so they may still come out on top and make a playoff game. The biggest question is if the first two weeks were just a fluke. Or did the Falcons just get lucky?
Lions takeaway: Sam Laporta is the next-best TE
The Lions are a deep playoff-run team. I have fallen in love with this offense. Not only is Amon-Ra St. Brown going off, but the rookie, Sam Laporta is killing it as well. Laporta brings that Travis Kelce vibe to the Lions. He comes down with completion after completion. When he’s not getting the ball thrown to him, he takes two defenders with him, leaving someone else wide open. Jahmyr Gibbs did ok on the ground. However, if the Lions continue to be successful, Sam Laporta will be a huge factor.
Saints vs. Packers
Saints takeaway: No Carr, no offense
So the Saints aren’t undefeated anymore. The Saints started the game off with a 17-0 lead going into the 4th quarter. In the 3rd quarter, their QB, Derek Carr went down with a shoulder injury. In comes Jameis Winston, who proved to everyone why he’s the backup. With a 17-point lead, Winston and the Saints choked away their lead and lost the game. So, Carr isn’t out for long and the Saints look like they could be a good team. The real question is if Carr can handle the pain and help the Saints become the best version of themselves.
Packers takeaway: This team has grit
The Packers were looking for a bounce-back week after a loss to the Falcons. The Saints were 2-0 coming into the game. It looked bleak for the Packers when they found themselves down 17-0. Jordan Love was facing adversity for one of the first times all year. This team showed some grit on the gridiron in the 4th quarter. Love led the Packers to a comeback win, proving that they are going to be a factor in the NFC North. What’s really shocking is the Packers came back without their all-pro running back, Aaron Jones, and top wide receiver, Christian Watson. Love was predicted to be a bust, but he’s turning into a solid QB right before our eyes. Once Love gets these two guys back, they could be a real threat come playoff time.
Broncos vs. Dolphins:
Broncos takeaway: It may be a whole team problem
Ok so obviously it isn’t Broncos Country let’s ride anymore. It’s let’s get out of Miami. The Broncos defense gave up 70 points, over 400 yards rushing and 300 yards receiving. Two runningbacks had 4 total touchdowns EACH!! I mean you can’t even blame this one for the offense. They did score 20 points but it doesn’t matter how you play if you’re giving up 70 points in a single game. In these takeaways, we’ve talked about how bad Russ is, how Sean Payton isn’t doing the best, and now their defense is in shambles. If I were a Broncos fan, I would already be looking at who will be available in this upcoming draft. It’s going to be a long season.
Dolphins takeaway: You didn’t have to do them boys like that
Alright Miami, we understand you have the best offense in football. It was clear last week. You didn’t have to score 70 points. You could’ve called the dogs off but you decided to EMBARRASS the Broncos. I get it, it’s the NFL. However, if you’re up 60, you can pretty much determine you’re gonna win. Their running back room had a combined 8 touchdowns. 8!!!! The Miami Dolphins put up more points in one week than EIGHTEEN OTHER TEAMS HAVE PUT UP ALL YEAR!!!! Hey, at least you didn’t kick the field goal to get the record.
Chargers vs. Vikings:
Chargers Takeaway: The offense just lost another key player
The Chargers came away with their first win of the season, but at what cost? Their #2 WR, Mike Williams, is out for the season due to an ACL tear. The Chargers offense looked strong but was sent a gift when the Vikings couldn’t score on the absolutely stupid move of going for it on their own 30-yard line. Look, the Chargers have a good team. Their defense may be iffy but it’s not bad. If this team wants to succeed, then Brandon Staley needs to get his head out of his ass.
Vikings takeaway: They out Staleyed Brandon Staley
OK, are we serious? You have an offense that has the most electric Wide Receiver in the game. You have one of the most high-powered offenses in the league. Brandon Staley GIFTS you a possession on their 35-yard line to win the game. It’s set up for you to win the game. AND YOU FUCKING CHOKE. You choke so bad it makes the Atlanta Falcons Super Bowl loss look like nothing. How the fuck do you swindle that away?? Look, I usually don’t cuss in these things if the team doesn’t deserve it. However, the Vikings deserve the big FU after that performance.
Pats vs. Jets:
Jets takeaway: No QB makes this so sad to watch
I was really excited for this Jets season. Our writer, P4 THA DOGG, is a huge Jets fan. I was hoping to see Aaron Rodgers light it up this season. After the man went down, there was still optimism when they beat the Bills. All of that optimism is now gone. I know Zach Wilson is only in his sophomore year, but he’s playing like shit. AGAIN! All I wanted to see was the Jets do well for once, but without a QB, it’s going to be a long year for the Jets. Wilson ranks 34th in QBR this season and there are only 32 teams…. Yep, the Jets are in for another stinker unless they can find a new QB.
Pats takeaway: Fans begging for Zeke
So Bill Belichick is still going to help the Pats succeed. Mac Jones does a good job at being a reliable QB and the Pats came away with the dub. However, you could hear fans asking for Eziekel Elliot to get more playing time. The Patriots have always been a run-first team and Zeke has been a well-known back for a long time. If the Pats can figure out how to use him more effectively, then this offense could surprise the league.
Bills vs. Commanders:
Bills takeaway: Bills defense balled out
Yes, we all know that the Bills may have one of the most high-powered offenses in the league. However, on Sunday, it was the defense that stepped up. The Bills defense came up with 4 interceptions and a fumble recovery. They were all over the field and it seemed like Howell had nowhere to put the football. If this defense flies around like this for the rest of the season, watch out.
Commanders takeaway: Welp
So, you had your fun. You started 2-0 and made it look like you actually could be a contender in your own division. Until you faced a top 5 defense and turned to ball over 5 times. I’m not saying all is lost. Howell had his worst game as a pro, and the offense looked bad. However, they’ve had moments when they’ve looked good. Can they get back to their winning ways, or is this the true Commanders offense we are going to see this season?
Texans vs. Jags
Texans takeaway: CJ Stroud may be the best rookie QB
We all thought Bryce Young was going to be the best QB because he was taken #1 overall. After this week, CJ Stroud looks like the best rookie QB at this time, CJ had 2 touchdown tosses and was 20 yards short of his second 300-yard game. Tank Dell looks like CJ’s #1 WR and continues to ball out. The Texans ANNALIATED the Jags and got their first win of the season. I don’t think they’re a playoff team, but they may have found their Quarterback of the future.
Jags: Really???
A loss to the Chiefs was fair but to the Texans?? With a rookie QB?? I have no idea what happened to the Jags on Sunday but they shat the bed. Hard. Trevor Lawerance looks all out of sorts and the defense couldn’t cover anyone. This team was supposed to give the teams in the AFC a run for their money. If they continue to play like this, they may be in for a very disappointing season.
Chiefs vs. Bears
Chiefs takeaway: Travis Kelce balled in front of Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been all over my X. I get it, it’s cool that Travis rizzed up one of the top musical artists in the world right now. The Chiefs came into Arrowhead looking to dominate. That’s exactly what they did. Patrick was wheeling and dealing all over the field. Travis Kelce had 69 yards and a touchdown in front of his new “hunny”. If the Chiefs can have this amount of success on the offensive end and the defense continues to ball out. The Chiefs may just find themselves in the Super Bowl once again.
Bears: Maybe you should’ve drafted a QB??
SOOOOOOOOOO…. Is it now time to say the Bears should’ve drafted a QB? I mean the top 3 QBs taken in the draft have done WAY better than Justin Fields. I mean, he just seems so lost out there. It’s like he’s never played football before. The Bears had a bad week, including a break-in to their facility and their defensive coordinator being raided by the police. Whatever is going on in Chicago, let’s hope they can figure this out and salvage some of their season with some positives.
Colts vs. Ravens
Colts takeaway: Matt Gay is like that
No Richardson, no problem. The Veteran Gardner Minshew stepped into the starting role and absolutely killed it. He’s been a starter before and is a very capable backup QB. This game was a dog fight. We needed extra time to be able to see who would come out on top. In OT, it was Justin Tucker coming up short, and Matt Gay stealing the game against the Ravens. This team may be better than what we thought. I just wish Jonathan Taylor would stop being such a baby and play. If this team had him, they may make a playoff run.
Ravens takeaway: Injuries always kill this team
So, let's go over the Ravens injuries on offense. JK Dobbins, Justice Hill, and Gus Edwards were all out at running back. Odell Beckham Jr. and Rashod Bateman, the Ravens #1 and #2 wide receivers were out, and most of their offensive line was also hurt. THAT WAS JUST ON OFFENSE!!! I feel really bad for this franchise. It’s like they have an injury bug they can never get over. This loss sucks, but they have to get guys healthy if they really want to make a run to the Super Bowl.
Panthers vs. Seahawks:
Panthers takeaway: Dalton played well, but this team needs help
Another backup QB was in for a rookie and he also played well. Andy Dalton helped the Panthers keep it close, but it wasn’t enough. There was a reason that this team was supposed to be a high draft pick. Sure, they got Bryce Young but they don’t have any weapons on the outside. Sure, Adam Thielen is an ok WR, but he’s not a WR #1. Their offensive line needs some work and their defense couldn’t stop a high schooler from running all over them. They gave Seattle a fight, but they have a lot more problems than just their QB that needs fixing.
Seahawks takeaway: Kenneth Walker is nice
We all know about the WR weapons the Seahawks possess. Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf make up one of the best duos in the league. With rookie, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, also getting a lot of looks, you would think this would be a pass-only offense. Kenneth Walker has shown that this is a multi-dimensional offense. He exploded last week and he continues to be a threat with the ball in his hands. If he continues to be this good, watch out, this may be the best offense in the league if they get rolling.
Cowboys vs. Cardinals
Cowboys takeaway: Hey Dak, you suck
Ah, there’s the Cowboys I know. Wow, you lost to the Cardinals. You have no one to blame than your over-paid, not accurate, QB Dak Prescott. This team took a huge blow on defense when Trevon Diggs went down with a season-ending injury. However, they should have still beat the Cardinals. Either way, I’ve said this since the beginning, the Cowboys are gonna choke. Again.
Cardinals: Dobbs isn’t honestly that bad
Joshua Dobbs continues to prove he belongs in this league. The Cardinals were written off. Gonna be the worst team in the league. Looking to land the Caleb Williams lottery. However, Joshua Dobbs has now almost led the team to a victory over the Giants (if the defense hadn’t shit themselves, they would’ve won) and now has a victory over one of the best teams in the league. James Conner continues to shine and what a win for the Cardinals. Also, no other team deserved to lose than the Cowboys. Enough said. Great job Dobbs, you deserve to be in this league
Steelers vs. Raiders
Steelers takeaway: The defense is the only way this team wins
The defense popped off again. Sure, they couldn’t stop Devante Adams, but neither can anyone else. TJ Watt and company continue to carry this team to wins. Kenny Pickett looked better than he has in the past 2 weeks, but that’s not saying much. Najee Harris needs to get his shit together. If this offense would learn how to be ok, then the Steelers may find themselves in a playoff birth.
Raiders takeaway: Devante Adams is thier only good player
I was actually excited about Jimmy G coming to this team. I’m not anymore. The defense gets shredded as fast as a paper going through a shredder. Every time Josh Jacobs gets stopped in the backfield due to their incompetent line, I want to rip my eyes out. Devante Adams continues to be Devante Adams, but if he can’t get any help, it’s going to be hell in Vegas.
Eagles vs. Bucs
Eagles takeaway: They’re finally looking like the team they’re supposed to be
Week one looked rocky. Week two looked better. In week three, we saw the Super Bowl contending Eagles we thought they were going to be. The Georgia Bulldogs drafted defense looks like they’re going to be a problem for everyone. Especially Jalen Carter. With their QB sneak that works every single time and the defense looking like this. It may be their year.
Bucs takeaway: Mike Evans needs to be a top priority
Ok, so you’re not going undefeated. BOO HOO. However, Baker didn’t look bad again. Mike Evans continues to show us he’s a top 5 WR in the league. So Tampa let me help you out here. PAY THE GUY!! He’s your entire offense for crying out loud. How can other people get paid who do way less, and he can’t? It truly baffles me. If I was Tampa, I would sign Mike Evans before he walks away with your entire franchise's chances of ever making it back to the promised land.
Bengals vs. Rams
Bengals Takeaway: Hey at least you won
This game was ugly. Just ugly. Joe Burrow continues to look like the calf is a serious issue. The offensive line isn’t helping by not blocking and getting Burrow MAULED EVERY SNAP. They pay you to protect the most important person in that franchise. So news flash, DO YOUR DAMN JOB!! I mean they may have squeaked a win out to not go 0-3 at the beginning of the season, but this team isn’t going anywhere until the offensive line figures it out.
Rams takeaway: So close yet so far
This team is like the Bucs. They were supposed to be bad this year and they’re not. They just got unlucky. The Rams defense continues to look good. I mean, if you have Aaron Donald I don’t know how you can do much better. Puca played well, but everyone is so focused on him, that he’s double-teamed every time now. Once Cooper Kupp comes back, they’ll be fine. They just got unlucky and took a loss.
