Dude....
The NFL season is here!! The Dudes have all of their predictions for you!!! Don't worry we will keep track of who is right and who missed the ball. First is the AFC West.
AFC West
PC: The AFC West is loaded with talent. The Chiefs are the reigning Super Bowl Champions. The Chargers are back and healthy with Keenan Allen, Mike Williams, and rookie Quentin Johnson leading the Wide Reciever room. The Broncos look to get back on track with Sean Payton at the helm. Finally, the Raiders look to make a strive forward with Jimmy G leading the offense. So, who’s going to take the throne at the top of the division? In my opinion, the reign of the Kansas City Chiefs will continue. However, the Chiefs will lose a game in the division for the first time in a long time. Patrick Mahomes is still him and Andy Reid is cooking up a storm for this new offense. Without Bieniemy as the Offensive Coordinator, the offense may struggle a little out the gate but will settle in nicely and take the division once again
How6rd: KC Chiefs: It's Hard to predict any other team winning except Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. They’re a little underdeveloped on the wide receiver side and Chris Jones has yet to be signed, but other than that the team is Super Bowl-ready. They’re truly a Super Bowl-or-bust team.
P4- Kansas City Chiefs, The other teams in this division need to prove that their coaching and talent can compete with the newest dynasty the NFL is forming.
AFC East
K Stelt: NY J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets: Although the Bills have shown their dominance in the East over the past 3 years, the Jets have called in the big guns and are a scary team to play on paper. The media isn't really high on the Jets taking the division because the Bills have run the show recently. But Rodgers has a new team, better receivers, and a redesigned defense. This team will be scary in the regular season but, will Rodgers be able to perform in the post-season?
PC: The AFC East is absolutely loaded this year. The Bills are going to be on a revenge tour. The Dolphins are stacked at receiver and have a healthy Tua under center. The Patriots continue to get better and always have the wicked Bill Belichick managing the game. Finally, the Jets have a new QB in Aaron Rodgers and a team that looks very scary and very good. So who wins the division? I’ll spell it out for you. J-E-T-S Jets Jets JETS!! This may be a hot take but Aaron has always been a winner. It doesn’t matter who is around him, or what team he plays for, he’s a winner. The Jets also have a star-studded defense with Sauce Gardner locking up the other team's #1 wide receiver. The Jets look to be a dark horse and will shock everyone this upcoming season.
P4- New York Jets, Without a defensive coordinator, the Bills need to prove they can stop the high-octane offenses in this division. Dolphins quarterback Tua gets another season with college teammate Jaylen Waddle and superstar Tyreek Hill. All in all the team that made the most changes, not only in the division but in the NFL was the New York Jets, MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers gets some of his favorite weapons from Green Bay in Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb. First round selection of Will McDonald IV will increase depth on one of the best defensive lines in football. The Jets are going for a championship, I don’t know if the rest of the AFC East can say the same.
AFC North
K Stelt: Cincy Bengals: Joe Shiesty has never lost a game as a Bengal. Joe Burrow on the other hand has. But the Bengals are on their last season of being really good. Their team is about to get expensive and their owner will be dumb enough to pay. But the WR core is deadly and the offensive line is ready to protect Burrow, finally. Their job is to get to the Super Bowl again and win. Nothing else.
PC: You want to talk about a stacked division…. The AFC North has a ton of talent. The Bengals and Joey Burrow continue to dominate. The Steel City Steelers have Kenny Pickett, who has a year under his belt. The Ravens and Money Bags Lamar Jackson seek to attain the top spot. Finally, the Clevland Brown and touchy Deshaun Watson look to turn the dog pound around. The AFC North will probably beat up on each other, with one battle-tested champion making its way into the playoffs. I believe Lamar Jackson will have an MVP season and lead the Ravens to another playoff berth and the top of the division.
P4- Cincinnati Bengals, Watch out for Pittsburgh. Cincy is the most complete team and after signing their first franchise quarterback since Boomer Esiason Joe needs to show that he’s worth the money with more division wins.
AFC South
How6rd: Jacksonville Jags: After a few years of revolving around mediocre talent except for the Titans the young QBs in the division all look to not only start a new era but even continue where they left off like the Jaguars. The big case for the Titans will be how many players can stay healthy because if their starters (especially on defense) can stay on the field then this division race could be very tight. Given recent history and how they look this year the Jaguars have the best depth and it’ll be the best set of skill players Jacksonville has had in years. If Trevor Lawrence continues from where he left off in the second half of last season this team could be a threat come playoffs.
PC: The AFC South isn’t loaded at all. They have two legit contenders for the top spot. The Jags are coming off a phenomenal year and only continue to add weapons. The Titans also added a huge weapon in Deandre Hopkins to the WR room. The Houston Texans have rookie QB C.J. Stroud and the Indianapolis Colts also have rookie QB Anthony Richardson leading the way. So, this division looks like a two-horse race. The biggest difference between those two teams (the Titans and the Jaguars) is the QB. One team has sunshine, Trevor Lawrence. The other has old bones, Ryan Tannehill. I think I would rather have Trevor Lawrence. I’m taking the Jags in a tight race.
P4- Jacksonville Jaguars, other than maybe Tennessee nobody is going to compete in this division barring any unbelievable quarterback play from the rookies in this division. Without Jonathan Taylor, Colts look dead in the water and Houston is in a rebuilding stage.
NFC West
How6rd: SF 49ers: Kyle Shanny is ready to blow up on any team that tries to get in their way this season. The defense is overloaded, in a good way, and the offense is solid and well-balanced. The only question at hand will be if the QBs stay healthy. And can Brock Purdy be as good as he was last season? Other than those two daunting questions this team has superbowl intentions and they want a rematch with the Eagles in the NFC Championship game, with a healthy QB, to prove to the world how deadly they can be.
PC: Speaking of a two-horse race. The NFC West is in the same category. You have the San Fransico 49ers with Mr. Errelevent Brock Purdy. Along with the 49ers you have Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks duking it out for the top of the division. The LA Rams have plummeted since they won the Super Bowl and the Arizona Cardinals have a midget QB and no one else. So, we have two big dawgs in the division. The question is, who wins the division? I think the 49ers have one of the best defenses in the league and it will carry them to another division win.
P4- San Francisco 49ers, Seattle can also compete but they historically wait till the playoffs to turn it up. San Fran has some of the highest-paid players at WR, DL, OL, LB and TE. They need to win, and a lot if this front office wants to stay with the team.
NFC East
K Stelt: Philly Birds: The team lost a bit on defense but they still have a solid head coach and a star-studded offense. Jalen Hurts looks to prove to the world that he is a legit QB and didn’t have a fluky good season. The run offense this team possesses is deadly, the question is will their defense show up like they did last season? This team is a Super Bowl or bust, but the 49ers are the team to beware of if you’re a Warbird fan.
PC:This used to be one of the weakest divisions in football. Now it seems like it is one of the toughest. The Super Bowl runner-up Philadelphia Eagles continues to get better and better. The NY Giants finally decided to pay Saquon Barkley something, so they should be decent. The Washinton Commanders may not be tough, but look to start the Sam Howell arc on the right foot. Finally, the Dallas Cowboys. Who gives a shit. They suck. My prediction, the Eagles win the division and the Cowboys blow it again. Go figure.
P4- Philadelphia Eagles, Cowboys stink, Washington could be good, the Giants have to prove a lot to compete against Philly.
NFC North
How6rd: Detriot Lions: Now I understand this is a mainstream pick but if pieces they got from their draft class can prosper early in the season this team is scary for how the rest of the NFC looks to play out. Goff is questionable at staying consistent enough to reach the top, but his receiving core including Amon-Ra St. Brown and returnee Marvin Jones Jr. looks to provide him with some solid weapons. Include the new running game with David Montgomery and a talented rookie in Jahmyr Gibbs this offense looks to put up a lot of points once again this season. Turn to the defensive side of the ball and it’s all about upside with last year’s first-round pick Aidan Hutchinson and newcomers into the backfield Cam Sutton and CJ Gardner-Johnson. They shocked everyone with how big of a turnaround midseason they had nearly making a wild card spot, but Dan Campbell returns nearly everyone who helped them in that run last season and they could do big things in a division that’s filled with raw youth for now.
PC: The NFC North is a big, sloppy mess. The Lions look to be the favorite with Dan Cambell’s fighting mentality taking control. The Packers start a new era with Jordan Love being the QB. The Bears loaded up on Justin Fields being HIM. Finally, the Vikings look to make their magic strike twice. I think Jordan Love and the Packers are going to surprise a lot of people. They’re going to surprise so many people that they are going to win the division and cruise into the playoffs.
P4-Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay, and Detroit all have a chance in this division.
NFC South
K Stelt Nola Saints: This division is a little garbage. But if you are looking for the most put-together and experienced team, the Saints win that job application. The Saints have the worst-best QB or best-worst QB in Derek Carr and a very experienced team. The Saints have a good WR, especially if Michael Thomas shows the world that he still is a top 10 WR. Chirs Olave is a stud as well and Alvin Kamara is suspended but will return to eat up bad defenses. Not many expectations for this team after the regular season, but they’ll win big games in the regular season and they’ll keep fantasy owners happy.
P4-New Orleans Saints
AFC Champion
K Stelt: NY Jets: Just a team you wanna see make the SB. We want Rodgers to get another shot at the Super Bowl and the Jets have been waiting since 1969. The football world would love this and the script writers would have successfully done their job right. They want it, and the world needs it.
How6rd:Chiefs: I mean c’mon, all this stuff about how teams are stacking up in the AFC is cool and all, but as long as Mahomes and Travis Kelce have functioning body parts to move on the football field there should be no “oh well they could be bad” or “well this team looks stacked look at Kansas City’s (enter any other position unit here).” Trust me your team can look really good and still Mahmomes will get the slowest 30-yard run ever with no one able to tackle the guy because everyone is terrified to do so for some reason. With that being said trust me here everybody…unless football does what it can do sometimes and pulls off the unexpected this is probably gonna be where the Chiefs end up at the least.
PC: I gotta go with the Ravens. I think Lamar Jackson getting paid is the best thing the Ravens could’ve done. Lamar looked to be sleepwalking through the season and now he seems like he will be on a revenge arc. Watch for JK Dobbins to explode too. I also really like rookie Zay Flowers to maybe become a rookie of the year candidate. As long as the team stays healthy, they’re going to be scary good,
P4-New York Jets
NFC Champion
K Stelt: Philly Eagles: Nothing would be more entertaining than for these two fanbases to face each other in the Superbowl. But the Eagles have a good QB and a similar team to get them to the Super Bowl. The 49ers looked like a pick to win but something will happen that causes this team to fall short once again.
How6rd: 49ers: There’s a small percentage of reasoning for why I believe this in the fact that there’s been only one occurrence of the same Super Bowl teams in back-to-back years, but I also believe that Shanahan finally has a good idea of how he can make the 49ers solid no matter who his QB is. Although I’m not a fan of the way he used Trey Lance before being sent to the Cowboys, I have to say making Jimmy Garoppolo and Brock Purdy both have multiple games looking like efficient quarterbacks is quite a resume. I don’t think Purdy is a low-quality QB himself, but with the weapons he has and the highly tactical playbook the Niners have up their sleeve it’s difficult for him to be truly terrible unintentionally. The Niners trenches are also very strongly similar to the Eagles’ and Nick Bosa is coming off one of the most incredible seasons for any defensive lineman looking for another one. This squad in San Francisco is very dangerous with the skill position players they have and I could easily see us get a Super Bowl LIV rematch.
PC: The Detroit Lions are legit. I get I may be throwing caution to the wind but after watching them play the Chiefs on Thursday, they look really good. Amon-Ra St. Brown looks like a top 5 WR. David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs both looked way better than everyone expected. They have a Super Bowl veteran at QB, and their defense looks much improved. Lions to the moon Baby!!!
P4- Seattle Seahawks
Super Bowl Champion
K Stelt: Jets- It’s a tough decision to make but if the Eagles are playing anyone but the Chiefs, they will win the big game. The team has the players and I’d Like for another Kelce brother to match his brother in amount of rings. The Jets, if they make it, would put up a fight, but something in my gut tells me that the scriptwriters will break Rodger's heart and screw him over in the big game, fully ending his will to play. The elite always wins, and when you try and defeat the elite, like Aaron Rodgers is secretly trying to do, they’ll do anything they can to crush you like a bug.
How6rd: Chiefs- Kelce being out the first game of the season is rough for the start, but the Chiefs are just like the Patriots of the 2010s when it comes to finding a way. This offense and defensive line on paper excluding Mahomes, Kelce, and Chris Jones reeks I will say that. Meanwhile, when has any of this impacted Mahomes bringing this team to an AFC Championship and mostly a Super Bowl? If Travis Kelce is able to be out on the field with Mahomes those two are so valuable that you could actually get away with losing a crucial player like Chris Jones (although that front four without him is BAD). Talk to me about your Aaron Rodgers fantasies, Joe Burrow’s fashion, Trevor Lawrence hype, and other NFC business all you want, but if you can come up with a reason why the Mahomes to Kelce formula truly won’t work again then be my guest.
P4- New York Jets
