Dude…
The NFL season has finally hit double digits. The league has separated into contenders and pretenders. The back-to-back Super Bowl champions are still undefeated.. Barley. The Lions continue to shine, and yes, the Jets still suck. Here is the latest NFL Notes from the Dudes and Sports crew!
Chiefs Stay Undefeated- In a wild game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos which ended up being 16-14, the Chiefs once again managed to edge out their division rivals with a mix of skill and, some would argue, a good amount of luck. The Broncos put up a hard fight and were within striking distance late in the game. With the score close in the fourth quarter, Denver attempted a field goal that could have changed the momentum, but Kansas City's Leo Chanel came through with a crucial blocked kick, keeping the Broncos off the board. The Chiefs have had multiple “lucky” wins that have kept them undefeated. Steve Spagnuolo has been clutch with his defense and the offense always shows up at the right time. Patty played ok with just over 250 yards passing and a touchdown. The Chiefs will play in Buffalo, which I believe will put the first L on the board for the champs. However, we’ve seen them win close games all year, so who knows if Mahomes Magic will strike again.
DA Bears SUCK- Last week’s matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Jacksonville Jaguars showcased the Bears’ ongoing struggles as they continued to lose momentum after a promising start to the season. They lost 19-3 in a rather boring and dull game. Jacksonville has been one of the worst teams all year. Chicago opened the year looking like a team on the rise, with strong defensive performances and flashes of offensive promise. However, recent weeks have exposed inconsistencies and weaknesses, especially on offense, leading to disappointing losses. Against the Jaguars, the Bears struggled to sustain drives and capitalize on opportunities, allowing Jacksonville to control the pace and dictate the game. This latest loss raises questions about Chicago's ability to contend this season as their early-season spark seems to be fading just when they need it most. Caleb Williams has been an ok quarterback for a rookie, but other rookies such as Jaden Daniels and Bo Nix have out performed him this season. Da Bears are hoping to get the rookie back on track, but who knows, it is the Bears after all.
Lions 5 Turnovers, Still Win- In a thrilling matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans last week, the Lions managed to secure a hard-fought win despite committing a staggering five turnovers. The Lions won 26-24 as Detroit’s offense was plagued by mistakes, including fumbles and interceptions, which allowed the Texans to stay in the game and capitalize on the Lions' miscues. However, Detroit’s defense stepped up in a big way, forcing key stops and preventing Houston from turning those turnovers into touchdowns. Despite the offensive struggles, the Lions held their ground, showing resilience and grit, ultimately pulling out a victory. The win was a testament to Detroit's ability to stay composed under pressure, as they continue to prove their toughness and determination, even when things aren’t clicking on all cylinders. Their determination and grittiness of this team matches the cities well known gritty attitude. The Lions are still my favorite to win the NFC, only to lose to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. HA.
