PC's College Football Takeaway

College football is back so that means The Dudes Takeaways are back as well!! Football is finally here, baseball is just getting good, and Patrick Mahomes is about to run it back with the Chiefs. Life is good right now. However, life for some schools hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows. The new season is upon us, so the takeaways are back as well!!!

Florida State… WTF: Ok if losing your opening contest in week zero in Dublin wasn’t bad enough, the Seminoles let yet another one slip through their fingers. Well, slip isn’t the right word. More like dropped the bag. I mean really? You’re ranked 10th IN THE NATION! All is well, DJU is QB, the defense should be good. Boston College pretty much told them to pick up their shit and go. I mean the defensive line looks like a bunch of middle schoolers who haven’t played football before. They’re SOFT! Like baby shit soft. DJU looked inconsistent and couldn’t get anything going. Run game, stopped. Wide receivers, locked down. Offensive line, overmatched. I mean it’s one thing to lose to Georgia Tech by going overseas, it being week 1, and losing by a last second field goal. Losing to Boston College by 15, not a good look. DJU and company need to figure it out, or it’s going to be a long ass season for the Seminoles.

Colorado? Good or bad?: There are a lot of what ifs with this Buffalo team. What if Shadeur Sanders continues to be a Heisman threat? What if Travis Hunter continues to outshine everyone else? What if the defense actually hold up? Lots and lots of what ifs. They played North Dakota State, which is a FCS school. However, has been dominant at the level. Colorado is going to be good or bad, most experts think their defense wouldn’t hold up. The Bison took the fight to the Buffaloes which escaped with a victory on a questionable ref calls. We will see how good Colorado actually is as they go to the big red in Nebraska coming this weekend.

Georgia and Miami big winners this week: A huge weekend with a ton of great matchups happened over this weekend. PC’s biggest wins come from the Georgia Bulldogs and Miami Hurricanes. Georgia, was projected to win this game,  but it was a dominant performance from the Bulldogs. Carson Beck looked great and their rushing attack looked good without Trevor Etienne (the brother of NFL running back Travis Etienne) who was sidelined due to a suspension. The defense looked like some DAWGS out there. They were flying all over the field and seemed to stop Musah and the Clemson offense with ease. The Bulldogs were already the #1 seed in the nation, but I didn’t know if they were just being glazed over (ha, get it, glazed) sorry, I’m not that young. Miami was my other pick for PC’s team of the week. The boys went into The Swamp and took care of business. QB Cam Ward threw for 3 touchdowns and almost 400 yards. They diced up the Gators and didn’t even make it competition, with the Seminoles being bad, the Hurricanes might be my favorite to win the ACC.
