NFL Crystal Ball: AFC North Gauntlet

K Stelt

Dude...

The AFC is absolutely the best conference in the NFL, but it makes sense when you have Pat Mahomes in your conference. With a QB like that, you need a QB to counter Mahomes's magic. This AFC North setup looks like possibly the best division in the AFC likely behind the AFC East. I'll predict what teams are capable of doing this year and how they can make ways to get to the Super Bowl.

Cincinnati Bengals

Record: 12-5

This team is in the standings for being neck and neck with the Chiefs, the Twitter fans could possibly be a bigger rivalry than the actual teams. The Bengals have a similar team from last season, they got rid of the trash Eli Apple and added a good blindside tackle in Orlando Brown, Jr. This team knows how to win, and the biggest reason behind that is their defense, their loaded WR room, and their QB. They did lose two starting safeties and that could be a problem for the defense at the end of the season but with their offense rolling, the games they play will be close. With Joe Cool being out for who knows how long, the beginning of the season looks slim, and could potentially drop 3 games, which makes me believe that a 12- 5 record is a safe record to put them at. No doubt they can go 15-3 but Joe Cool can lose his cool in some moments, but if he's got a healthy WR route and OBJ can give him more protection, this team could be scary.

Baltimore Ravens

Record: 12-5

The Ravens are a scary team when Jackson is healthy, he got his money, and he's going to show off his prime athleticism this season. He got some weapons. Harbough is a fantastic coach and their defense should be able to jump up from last year. This team can absolutely beat the Bengals and other good teams, but with a new widespread offense that can either help or hurt Jackson. If Jackson stays healthy, it will be a long season for whoever plays them. Give them a couple of easy wins and they can find themselves in the playoffs again.

Which could give some teams a run for their money. Odell could make some moves but has been out of the game for a while so we'll see what he's got.

Pittsburg Stealers

Record10-7

It's hard to give Mike Tomlin a record that doesn't have 10 in the win column. The guy can coach, but with a sophomore QB with kitten hands, it'll be tough. A defense is in the works, but will their WR core (who is unbelievably underrated) and a stud RB, it seems silly to not give this team 10 wins. Hopefully, they win more, but with Baltimore and Cincinnati, it'll be tough in the long run. The running game will be strong, and the defense will be strong. A mystery team but they've got a lot to live up to.

Cleveland Browns

Record 9-8

I know they've got the Massage man himself, but if Watson can come in and become the pro bowler he is, the AFC North is going to be stacked. With a full pre-season, it could be in his favor. Elijah Moore from the Jets adds some power to the WR room and Nick Chubb is that guy. The defense has some work to do but their new DC can absolutely get the job done, he's got a wide range of defensive schemes, but this defense will have to step up for this team to be competitive. This team looks like they'll be in last but they have got some work to do to keep up with some very high-powered offensive teams in the AFC North.
