Dude…
Ok, so I am currently 2-2 on my predictions. Only two spots remain and we still have 4 teams contending for those final spots in the 2024 NBA Playoffs. The Pelicans are going to be Zion-less as they face the Sacramento Kings. The Miami Heat are going to be Jimmy Bucket-less as they face the Chicago Bulls. Both 8 seeds are up for grabs. Who takes the final spots? The Dudes have their predictions below!! It’s almost playoff time!!!
The New Orleans Pelicans host the Sacramento Kings for the 8 seed in the West. New Orleans has some great talent .They have Zion Williamson who scored 40 points last game. Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum who were former All Stars. A slew of young talent in Trey Murphy, Herbert Jones, and Jonas Valanciunas who can contribute. However, against the Lakers, they didn’t have enough. Not only that, but now, Zion is out for this elimination game. The Sacramento Kings killed a dynasty in the Golden State Warriors. Now, they look to defeat another great foe. De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis are the two headed monster that leads the Kings in almost every category. Keegan Murray went off last game and can be a consistent defensive weapon too. If Malik Monk and Kevin Heuter can show up and shoot from outside well, it will be a very tough team to beat. So, who’s going to face the youngest 1 seed in history? I believe the Pelicans have the talent to do it. Sure, Brandon Ingram hasn’t competed well and CJ didn’t show up but that was one game. However, without Zion Williamson, they don’t have a chance. The Kings are clicking at the right time. Murray showed up last game and if the guys who are supposed to be good continue to play at the level they are supposed to, I think the Kings will advance to the playoffs, leaving New Orleans with another disappointing season.
Miami, Miami, Miami… I honestly thought was going to beat Joel Embiid. No, not the Sixers as a whole, they just needed to stop Embiid. They simply couldn’t do it. Embiid got the last laugh, sending Miami into a difficult situation where if they lose, they go home. Jimmy Buckets is also out with an MCL strain and is a HUGE loss for Miami. They need Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro to take over. The Chicago Bulls surprised me. Sure, I thought they were going to win, but not by that much. Demar played well with 22 points. Vucevic had 24. Ayo Dosumnu even had 19. The biggest surprise was Colby White who went off for 42. The Bulls dismantled the Hawks and made this matchup seem much more interesting than I originally thought. Now, without Jimmy Buckets, can the Heat hold off the Bulls? I think they can, but it’s going to be close. I feel like Bam will show up for once and then never again in the playoffs. He’s the #1 guy (except for Tyler Herro who probably shares that role). So, he is going to score and I feel like the Heat’s team is just too good for Chicago. Give me the Heat escaping against the Bulls to set up to play Boston.
